This was really lovely. I kept waiting for he other shoe to drop the entire book, you know what I mean especially in romance novels, but it never did. So that, oddly enough, gave me some anxiety hence why I'm knocking it to four stars. Otherwise it was really lovey, and romantic and nice. I was annoyed several times with the hero, because was an asshat and his asshatery was not consistent throughout the book, but I can overlook it. This book is quite ok but as someone said in their reviews, there was something missing cos of which I had to give lower rating.I liked Gus character in the beginning but she has many inconsistent character traits which I couldn't tolerate and digest. Until half way into the story, she s been shown as someone who can take on anything and who doesn't care about what others think or balls or parties. But in the latter half, she s shown as someone who is shit scared to meet people in London. She s so afraid that at one point of time, she says that she thought they both will stay in Norwich (Her father's place) instead of going to London! WTH! I mean, she knows he s the heir to dukedom and even then her reasons are all self centered. And not to mention, how Harry tells her I L U every damn paragraph just to make her do something courageous (like meeting people, Duh!!)There is so much that can be done with this story line. I liked the first half but the second half dwindled away for me. I thought Harry thinking Gus doesn't deserve someone whose leg is injured is too stupid cos he knows that his leg is going to be fine. So, I couldn't finish reading last 30 pages. It was not so appealing and Gus character was getting on to my nerves with her TSTL attitude. Overall, this cud have been a great story had it taken another route. But this turned out to be too simple with less than average characters.
What do You think about A Wicked Pursuit (2014)?
An okay book. Didn't hold my attention as well as some others. Liked the characters.
