This book was emotionally draining. It was a tough read. A Woman Gone Mad made me so sad. I was sad throughout the entire book. I thought the story started out slow, but you will need the information for later in the book.Kimber is a great writer and I wondered if she had experienced these things herself. They seemed so real. Everything bad happens to Lillian. Life is not good for her, and my heart hurt for her. This is the story of a young woman who finds love as a teenager and that loves tears her apart and affects the rest of her life in the most dramatic ways. Do not expect a happy boy meets girl, they fall in love and live happily ever after. This book is raw. It is heartbreaking and it will make you cry. Starts off a little slow, and reminds me of a journal I may have or not have written lots of when I was growing up... ;) Lots of heart break in this book, especially after reaching the half way point, I was anxious in reading about every relationship to find out how the story would play out, I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! I am very much looking forward to reading Leo's story in Holding Her in Madness. I was terrified after reading That which Destroys Me, thinking Kimber would possibly destroy me AGAIN with this book, but I enjoyed this book, even after all the tears, it has left me with more than a book hangover, I'm on an author hangover, and I want to devour everything she writes.
What do You think about A Woman Gone Mad (2000)?
This book was a battle...I loved parts as much as I disliked them.
