This book was fabulous! Laura Nilsson, a TV journalist meets Javier Corbray, a Navy SEAL in Dubai (read First Strike). They have an amazing weekend together in a place that they could be arrested for having sex and not being married. After parting ways, they return to their normal lives. Laura is taken hostage by terrorists while reporting in the Middle East. The terrorist leader says that they executed her. When Javier finds out the terrorist that killed Laura is to be captured, he and his team are on the op to bring him in. Only while he is there he finds Laura too. Laura is rescued and goes to Sweden with her mother to try to reclaim her life. She gets a job with the I team in Denver and returns to the states for the trial of her captor. She eventually runs into Javier again since they have some mutual friends. When Laura is attacked again, Javier is there to help protect her. This book was the type of action packed and suspenseful novel that Pamela Clare is known for. The chemistry between Laura and Javier is smokin. Their relationship grows despite Laura thinking she cannot be with another man after what she went through as a hostage. Javier lets her take the lead in determining how their relationship should proceed. Javier wants back the Laura he knew in Dubai, but she has a secret she is keeping from everyone. Since I don't want to give anything away, I'll just say that I was surprised to see the resolution to that part of the story. It was unexpected. The bond between the I-Team members and their spouses is alive and well, even though Laura is not part of the I-Team in prior books. I love how the guys relate to each other (especially Marc and Julian).I hope this series has a few more books in it. I would like to see Joachin and Holly to find their matches.
What do You think about Acoso Mortal (2014)?
I got hooked on the I-Team series a few years ago. Glad another one came out I could enjoy.
