Agatha Raisin And The Christmas Crumble (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

It might have been a short read, but in that space I was able to imagine the charcters and feel an affinity for them. This has been really well written and moves the reader along at a good pace. Until reading this I had not read anything from the author, but I can see that that will be changing come the new year. So if anyone if looking for a goodread which will not take too long I can recommend this as a great evening's read in front of the fire Part of the Agatha Raisin detective series this is a standalone short story from MC Beaton, who is also the author of the Hamish Macbeth novels. This is the first Agatha Raisin book that I'd read and I bought it for my Christmas reading and because I really liked the cover.Doing a good deed for some local lonely residents (these people aren't even her friends!) and I think she calls them crumblies or wrinklies...something like that...anyway she invites them round to dinner which is catered apart from the pudding which she insists on making herself. The whole pudding making scene was a right hoot! Well...without trying to give too much away there's a suspicious death around the Christmas dinner table and Agatha's out to clear her name and solve it.The story doesn't go into much detail with the characters but then it is a short story so you just go with the flow. Probably best to read one of the full length novels to find out more about Agatha. This is quite a sweet story and funny in places. I could have read more of this and was sad that it was over so quickly - literally read in less than a couple of hours. A great way to spend a cozy Christmassy afternoon.

What do You think about Agatha Raisin And The Christmas Crumble (2012)?

Eindimensionale Charaktere, aber guter Wortwitz.
