In the book Alabama Moon. this little boy named Moon Blake is only 10 years old and on his own. his father and him were a family that hated the government so much that they made a shlter in the ground, made there own food, cloths, traps, and medicine. Moons father though has died and Moons mother was never really around because she passed away when Moon was younger. Before Moons father died though he told Moon that he needed to go to Alaska and find people that are just like him there( people who hate the government). When Moon is starting his adventure to Alaska a Law Enforcement Officer finds him walking and takes him to Pinson. Pinson was a home for boys. Moon made some friends in which were Kit and Hal. Moon had the perfect plan how to escape from pinson with his 2 new friends. When Hal came back with a bus after he got out of the play yard he came back with a bus and Moon had the perfect idea to take all the boys in Pinson with them, but when they got to the forest all the boys wanted to go home so only 2 of them went with Moon. Kit and Hal. Hal left after a week though because he wanted to see his father because he was taken away from him when he was a young. after a month though Kit started getting sick real bad. when Moon got him to the hospital Mr. Wellington foung him and wanted to help Moon so he did. Mr. Wellington said that Moon had an uncle that wold adopt him. So Moon said goodbye to Hal and when Moon got to the hospital to say bye to Kit he wasn't allowed to have visitors because he got worse. after a day at the hospital Moon found out that Kit was no longer on this planet with no more. When a week passed by Moon finally got to meet his new family.Characters:Moon= Moon knew how to make weapons, traps, food, fire, and even a shelter and Moon was scared of nothing, if someone got in his way he whiped them good.Hal= Hal was a teenage boy about to got helenwiener, but Hal knew how to drive and be good friend with his father Kit= Kit was this skinny little boy who was different because once in a while he would get really sick, Kit never complained about anything though.Sanders= Sanders was the Law enforcement Officer, he was a mean and snotty fellow though, he though that since his daddy is a judge he can do anything he wants to.Setting= National Forest, woods, mobileConflict= Moon was heading to Alaska but now he doesnt want to because he made new friends, but Sanders wants too kill him for beating him upResolution= Moon proves that Sanders is a mean man who lies and he find out he has an uncle who will adopt him.I really like this book and i recomend this to anyone who like adventure, and sad books
The plot is that Moon parents died the mom died of some kind of sickness, the dad dies of an infection of the leg. The beginning takes place in a shelter in the woods. Moon’s dad hated the government and when he had the infection in his leg he told Moon to go to Alaska. Moon does not go to school and does not go into town. The only person that they trust is Mr. Abroscotto. He works at a convenience store near where they live. When his dad dies he took a wheelbarrow and put his dad in it and took it where his mom was buried. Sanders, a policeman, found Moon and told him to get to the car and took him to jail and then he went to Pinson which is a place for boys home. While there, he met Kit and Hal, and Moon was trying to make an escape plan. SPOILER ALERT DON'T READ ON!!!!!!! If you want to go ahead. The escape plan worked and Kit and Hal and Moon and every one that was at Pinson went on a bus that Hal stole and went to the forest to run away from Pinson. Sanders was living by there or was checking out because he saw the bus. He attempted to find Moon, Hal,and Kit. All the kids except for Moon , Hal, and Kit, stayed on the bus and the other boys went on. Weeks later Hal left to see his dad and Moon and Kit were the only ones left, Hal did not like the forest life he wanted some meat but only ate cattails, and he had ticks in his hair and was very hungry. He was homesick and wanted to go to his dad, He found his dad and Kit got sick and Moon drug Kit Kit on a sled that Moon made with blankets to go get help. He saw a car he ran out to get attention and he left Kit and he reached him and the woman and the man took him to a hospital. When Moon was by himself he slept and then he saw a truck and he looked closely and he saw Hal again with his dad and they went to retrieve Moon to get him back to his house to change and take a shower. Also take care of him and hide him away from Sanders. The character I like has to be Moon he is outdoor person and he is a survivalist. He knows more than me or I don't know about nature. I just know about Netflix and how to fix the internet or WIFI. The other hand I don't like Sanders the policeman because he likes to curse a lot and he choked Moon. He likes to hurt people and forced people to do stuff. ttWhat would I rate this book 5 stars out of five because the book is so branchy with the plot. Also I would recommend this book for people who likes suspense. The reason why it's suspenseful because Sanders could find them but again he could not or something on those lines.
What do You think about Alabama Moon (2006)?
Moon Blake has lived with his father in the woods in a primitive shelter for as long as he can remember. His pap taught him everything he knows about survival in the wild, which is good, because when he breaks his leg and dies from the infection he leaves Moon all on his own. Pap gives Moon instructions to make his way to Alaska, where he’s likely to find other cadres of people who don’t like the government and want to be free to live their own lives in their own way. Moon’s not sure how to go a

A 10-year-old named Moon has lived in the forest all his life and can definitely take care of himself. His father is a survivalist (probably with PTSD) who hates the government and civilization. When he dies from a broken leg and infection. Moon is left on his own and his father has told him to go to Alaska to find others like them. He doesn't get far before an unpleasant southern constable catches him and tries to put him into state care.I read this aloud to a few classes of fifth-graders and they were spellbound. I think the students liked that the main character was fiercely independent, capable, and self-confident. Initially, Moon is not treated well by the adults he comes in contact with (maybe his father was right), but eventually he learns that most people really are honest and good. The villain (constable) and one older boy use some rough language so I think I would be careful that the audience was mature enough to understand they shouldn't talk that way. The only negative characters are the constable and maybe a boys-home manager.

I grew up in a swamp and this book made me want to go back. Not to get ticks or redbugs and I never wore a coonskin hat or used deer sinew as fishing lines. But the feeling of looking up through a tree to see sunlight trickling down. Feeling part of something big as a forest and small as an ant.Moon is the best narrator. He's very smart and observant. Vulnerable and lonely. He's a best friend unless you talk about his daddy then he'll have to whip up on you.I got the chance to meet Mr. Watt as I was reading this and he's as interesting a speaker as Moon.
