If "The Alchemy of Forever" had been written on Wattpad by a fourteen-year-old, I might have been impressed. In fact, the book reads like it was written by a fourteen-year-old on Wattpad. But that aside, this novel is vaguely interesting at best. The plot drags and the characterization lacks vibrance. Its only saving grace is its cliffhanger of an ending - although I'd much rather read something written on Wattpad by a fourteen-year-old than put myself through reading the sequel. Guilt is what drives Sera insane that made the whole story turn around than choosing to end it and kill herself. Also, guilt is probably what you'll feel after realizing that there is not enough pages left to end the story as you like it but the last word - not a phrase - crushes your most inner desire and gives you the most mind boggling cliffhanger you never have expected. When you think Cyrus is done, well, he's not. He just took it to the next level.
