So I downloaded this on a recommendation, and it was a freebie! but then realised it was part of a series - well 5 minutes and a few dollars/pounds less, I am the proud owner of 5 books! So I thought I'd get started right away, even with other 1000 books on my To Be Read collection!!We first meet Jess, an author, albeit a beautiful unassuming author, who having finished her debut novel was having writers block, not something I would know about! I am a reader! She heads off to get a coffee, something you authors appear to run on! She meets a guy in the line for coffee, and they sit together and start chatting. They have a connection, although at this point thing its more lust than anything else.So we meet the handsome man with the chiseled face and defined muscles - The thing is Johnny is the lead singer of a highly acclaimed Rock Band, but Jess doesn't have a clue as to who he is!That is until she faces him at the concert, her best friend drags her too! Its Chasing Cross. The band where Johnny happens to be the lead! He seeks her out, and ends up changing the set of their show to everyone's delight! She goes and meets him backstage, and things go smoothly, they briefly talk and end up parting ways.Not before he gives his autograph to Jess for the best friend, with a hidden note! Johnnies manager is trying to get him to go solo, but his commitment to the band is very strong. After the concert finishes and Jess has called him they disappear off into the mountains, Johnny's retreat! They learn more about each other including intimately - Phew! Johnny discovers Jess has a good singing voice and feels they have a future together! but we get a glimpse of Selfish Johnny, although short lived! His band member Rick, finds out about the solo contract which causes a bum in their road, and it causes the boys in the band to talk things through, after rick is involved in an accident.Jess gets an all important waited for phone call, pushing her career into a direction she had dreamed of only for her to start to regret having just meeting Johnny, but the wonderful man that he is, sees her potential and between them they are about to embark on their future together.I loved the character build up of Johnny and Jess and briefly meeting the boys from the band, hmmmm, I feel their stories are going to be as interesting as Johnny's, cant wait and hopefully see how Johnny and Jess develop. 2.5 STARS~The premise sounded promising: rock star meets woman in cafe, she doesn't recognize him and finds it refreshing to be able to have a normal conversation with someone who doesn't know about his celebrity status. So, naturally I went in with high expectations. My hopes were quickly dashed when not 24 hours after meeting did Johnnie ask Jess to go out of town with him and she agreed!! I'm mean come on, be smart here Jess; he's a complete stranger taking you to parts unknown where no one can hear you scream (not that this turned out to be a concern...but really, who leaves town with someone they just met...). I became further annoyed when two days after meeting Johnnie expected Jess to help him make a huge, life altering decision. And I was even further incensed when three days after meeting, they're pledging there love to one another and Johnnie's promising a lifetime together. I know this is a work of fiction, but still, the plot should be somewhat believable and trust me, insta-love as it is described in this book is definitely not believable.

I enjoyed the story but would have preferred it if it had given us more about them.
