If you like a down-on-her luck/very imperfect heroine you will love this book! And I have to say that I do like my heroines a little damaged, ie more interesting. The first part of the story of Tommi & Sig ended with no answers as to who Tommi really is. This second installment hits you hard & fast with the God-awful truth of Tommi's past. There were no crumbs to lead the way to figure out what happened to young Tommi & now I know why - it is one of those cases where bad luck is continually dumped on the poor girl's head & she can't catch a break. She does what she can to keep her family together & now that her secrets are out in the open we can only hope that the law will be on her side & understand why she did what she had to do. But the heartbreak! OMG Tommi doesn't know what will happen to her brother Travis & even worse it seems like Sig caused her downfall with his betrayal. She needs him more than ever & he has to prove that he is 100% on her side, no matter if it hurts his career in the long run. Everything works out in the end & Tommi (AKA Tia) has a few more hurdles to overcome before she can realize what makes her happy & how to hang onto it tight with both hands. Tommi: You can't be falling in love with me. Love is pretty, not ugly. Sig: But maybe one day, after all this is over, I can be worth your love. Really awesome book!! The conclusion to Sig and Tommi's story did not disappoint. When Tommi finally reveals the secrets she has been carrying it was quite surprising. Sig finds himself in a moral dilemma and has to fight to find the way out. He does not want to lose his moral compass, but he understands some of what Tommi went through and the decisions she had to make. Overall a good read and definitely a great way to wrap up their story. Will definitely read another book in this series when Michelle does one.
