When I first started this book I was concerned about the amount of issues crammed into the story. I thought there was no way that Prinz was going to be able to address all these issues. I was wrong. This teen romance is framed within a tragedy that happens outside of the main characters' control. While issues of immigration, racism, death, absent mothers and organic farming do not seem to all go together, Prinz has a way of making it all tie together meaningfully. I love the way she writes teens--very realistic and likeable with minimal angst. While the love story will be the main draw for teens, they'll end up getting a whole lot more in the process. This book was really good. I mean, it had a lot of things going through it as once like the whole slightly racist thing, the gone mother thing, the odd relationship with the father, the love, the friendships, it had a lot of things messing with it. In the end it was still a good book and the author sorted out everything in the end. the only I wish is that she would've printed out Forests diary that he gave to Roar. I really wish I could've read the whole diary and not just the two little parts she actually wrote.
What do You think about All You Get Is Me (2010)?
i'm a little worried that the girl's name is Roar...but maybe that's just me.
