Another brilliant installment in the Alpha Girl series. I have totally fallen for these books. Erin's world is so interesting, her mythology so well-created. Tessa and Dastien are a wonderful couple to follow, and their friends, family, pack and enemies are all equally easy to love. Alpha Divided sees Tessa getting to grips with both her wolf and her Bruja heritage more. There's excitement, kissing, magic and mystery. I can't wait for the next book! Raised purely human with a “gift” she thought of as a curse, Tessa’s world turned upside when first she’s bit by a guy she was immediately drawn to and knew right away was meant to be hers, and turned into a werewolf. And not just any werewolf, but an alpha who is stronger than members of their top Seven. True Mates, the bond between Tessa and Dastian is incredibly strong and something rare. She’s finally found a place where she fits in and is accepted. But after being bit she finds out she’s also a witch and her grandmother, who had been the area’s coven leader, had foreseen Tessa’s path as a future leader of both witches and werewolves, made sure she was raised away from the coven to protect her from the darkness of Luciana, today’s coven leader. And the witches are mad because in their eyes, the werewolves stole Tessa from them.Tessa feels backed into a corner and to prevent a war, promises to stay with the coven until the day before the next full moon in order to start learning how to do magic, and be totally cut off from the werewolves during that time. We learn more about the coven, magic, Tessa’s cousins, Luciana and her son Daniel, as well as a few others that we can expect to see in the future. This story has many darker aspects to it and the consequences are becoming larger and more far reaching as Tessa’s world expands. But it also contains humor, much of which involves Tessa’s attempt to learn magic. Some things Tessa finally figures out can be more obvious to the reader from the start, but it doesn’t detract from the story and is a learning experience for Tessa. Tessa’s strength, conviction and abilities are written in a believable way as we also get her vulnerability, fears and emotions, making the character feel more three-dimensional. The story might not go quite the way you expect it will, but her world and possible consequences are growing. I found the book difficult to put down for mundane things like work and sleep as we get plenty of action and emotion, and you just have to find out what’s going to happen next.I came across this series just a few weeks ago when Becoming Alpha was offered for free and was immediately hooked by the characters and situations. Very easy for both teens and adult readers to appreciate.
What do You think about Alpha Divided (2014)?
