In my opinion Always October is an awesome book because the author makes it very interesting in the beginning its sad but funny through-out the rest of the book. I'm able to relate to Jake because my mom left on vacation for a long time and Jake's dad left too. My thought about this book is that its one of the best books I've ever read. The reason it's my favorite book is because I really like how the author is very specified with everything and gives me a visual, the best part is, is that I feel like third person watching the story as it goes. I recommend this amazing book the my friend Katherine Mayorga because she likes monsters, Halloween, and everything in that file. Always October is an awesome book and if was part of a series I would them all. Bruce Conville is AMAZING and is my new favorite author, sorry R.J Palacio. Jacob Doolittle and Lily Carker make a great pair of investigators. They are about ten years old and become friends because of their love of horror movies and monster stories. In fact, Lily's favorite author happens to be Jacob's grandfather, Arthur Doolittle. Strange disappearnces have been happening to the Doolittle men and Jacob and Lily go about finding out what happened. Another strange thing that happened to Jacob and his mom is that a baby is left on their steps with a note from its mom asking to care for the child. One night when the moon is full, the baby turns into a green baby monster. Jacob freaks and gets help from Lily. Thus trying to figure out the notes from Jacob's grandfather and the puzzles that they find. Great adventure for 3rd to 6th graders. Not that scary, but enough to keep you glued to the book.
