Loaned to me by Butch Green. This is not one of the "Preacher" series; it's a "Smoke Jensen" western.* * * * *I'm torn between "did not like" and "it was okay." I have enjoyed some of the books in Johnstone's "Preacher" series, but not much this one. The characters did not behave in tune with the traits depicted for them. Also I was highly peeved about the author making a point of Smoke uncharacteristically leaving the house without his hat and guns, then later he pulled down his hat to keep snow from burning his eyes. Not only was it poor editing, but it was bad writing. I thought maybe this was an early offering and Johnstone did better later, but the publication date was 2011. I'll stick with the "Preacher" series.
