Amigurumi Knits: Patterns For 20 Cute Mini Knits (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
The projects are stinkin' adorable. I consider myself to be a fairly advanced knitter, yet I'm finding some of the instructions to be unclear. There is errata published for the Spider and Sea Star patterns, though I've found other patterns that I believe to contain mistakes as well. It's particularly frustrating since it's hard to tell if these are actual mistakes or if they're simply not worded as well as they could be. There is a Ravelry group that has a list of the official errata as well as unofficial corrections and clarifications by members. It's helpful, but I'm sure it's annoying for people who aren't members.Even with the mistakes, there's a real sense of accomplishment for completing many of these patterns. Just make sure to do those hand stretches, though, because many of them can pack a wallop on your wrists and fingers. I can't wait to start knitting these adorable plushies. Amigurumi crochet is so adorable, and translating the style to knitting ups the aesthetic quotient tenfold. The only reason this one gets four stars instead of five is because I would rather see more creature patterns than a whole chapter of useless vegetables... I can't see myself actually knitting an eggplant. But the undersea creatures are great, and I can't wait to make Nessie!
