Amish White Christmas Pie (2012) - Plot & Excerpts

I would've given this book 4 stars if there hadn't been a few instances of vague language that might or might not have been inconsistencies. Also, the book centers around the Amish White Christmas Pie recipe, but at the end of the book, this pie recipe was not among the recipes given to readers. This disappointed me because I wanted to know what ingredients in the pie made the characters enjoy it so much. A sweet Christmas story of reconciliation and grace. Will's mother died when he was just a young child and he spent his days with his father travelling the country in his father's big rig. Will's father takes him to the home of an Amish couple, Mark and Regina Stoltzfus, for Christmas and takes off to try to find work that would give stabilty to Will's home life. Will's father Frank has an accident shortly after leaving Will and spends months in rehab. When Will's father returns, Mark and Regina had moved to Indiana. Raised by Mark and Regina, Will has accepted the Amish way of life and is soon to be married to an Amish girl, Karen. By an advertisement Frank's wife places in the Amish newpaper, Frank has finally located Will and contacts the family to reconnect with Will. Will is bitter and strugles to find forgiveness for his father's abandonment. When Regina invites Frank, his new wife and their 2 little girls for Thanksgiving, the reunion is not initially successful. will has always struggled with not finding the note Frank said he left. The note is discovered when Regina gives the recipe card to Karen, but Will has already left to seek solitude. When an accident occurs Frank is able to step up and display his love for Will and their relationship is restored.
