This book was slightly different from the other books that Irene has written. Half the book wasn't focused on a kidnapping, which I am thankful for. While out running one morning Mark runs into his old teenage sweetheart, Emily. As the talk and catch up shots ring out and before they know it they are taking cover. Once the chaos is over the question remains who was the target Mark or Emily. This is a fast paced entertaining story that hooked me from the start. I was able to check this book our of our local library and read it on my Nook. There must have been some trouble transferring it from print to electronic copy. This was evident in errors in dialog and paragraphs not being separated properly. It was a wee bit annoying, but the story was so good that I pushed on through!Ms. Hannon took no time in jumping into the story. She also did a great job in presenting two possible scenarios which kept me reading to see how things were going to unfold. As a trained counselor, I appreciated the psychological aspects of the story line and the development of the characters. Early on, Coop lays down a theme in his comment that "Love changes things." What becomes clear is that love changes people.I recommend this book and look forward to reading more in the series and by Ms. Hannon in general.
I think my two star rating says it all, I guess I just didn't get into this book.
