I absolutely loved this book! ...and I am so happy because I started this de Warenne Dynsaty series with The Masquerade (and loved it) but all of the other books up until this point had been blah. This one, An Impossible Attraction, is going on my Keeper Shelf. I love Brenda Joyce's style in which her leading lady characters are such sweet, easy-to-love characters. It's not that often that I 'just can't put a book down'... but this was one of them. I felt it was a sweet, light read (no bad guys, no murdering plots, etc) just the story of how these two characters fell in love. There was a secondary romance going on with the hero's mother and a gentleman, but I skimmed over that because I just could not wait to read what would happen next with Alexandra and Stephen :) A deWarenne Dynasty historical romance novel (and I LOVED the earlier 'Masquerade' novel). Brenda Joyce is wonderful, whether she is writing a historical romance or Paranormal Romance (which are EXCELLENT). Couldn't put this one down. I was on a 5 hour flight from Maui and the time just flew as I was reading this book. Alexandra Bolton sacrifices again and again for her family, but since this is not 'literature', but a romance novel where happy endings are always guaranteed... one did not get depressed and worried for poor Alexandra...Thank goodness.
What do You think about An Impossible Attraction (2010)?
A very good read, filled with mellowdrama and complicated family history.
