Gabe didn’t know what had happened between Lane and Becca, but whatever it was seemed to have changed Lane’s mind. Becca had her lab work, Gabe had his tourist business and Lane had his lifeguard job, but somehow all three of them had managed to come together in the early evening hours at the beach. Gabe and Lane had taken turns teaching Becca how to paddleboard. Gabe had consulted Lane on some new ideas he had about his store and Lane was happy to help him out. Together, they formed new tour packages involving kayaking and windsurfing and as a result, brought in more customers than Gabe could handle. He hired Lane part time and was amazed at how many great ideas his lover had to improve the business. Things had been going better than expected. It was almost as if it was meant to be.There was just one problem, however. As close as both he and Becca had become to Lane, there was some part of Lane that he held back. He refused to answer any questions about his past. Besides knowing that he was once in a threesome, Gabe knew nothing of Lane’s family, his friends or his life’s ambitions.
