Riveting! This book was brilliant. It sucked me in and kept up the pace skilfully. The main characters were revealed throughout the book so well that I felt I could see their soul! The killers acts are horrific and more horrific is the motive that is effortlessly intertwined throughout the novel. I thought the suspense was thrilling as slowly the tiny bread crumbs turn into clues and avenues to lead Sheriff Claire Stiles and Detective Reilly closer to the killer then they expect. The growing bond between these two law inforcement officers is a wonderful side story and definitely balanced the storyline. Definitely a new fan of this author and is as enjoyable as a James Patterson's book. I really, really liked this book for several reasons. The main characters were well developed and complex. The murderer was a very interesting character with lots of development as far as his background history and motive. There was also some interesting information about autopsies. The book kept me guessing right until the very end as I wanted not only to find out about the solution to the murder mystery but also to find out about the two detectives and their private lives.
I thought that the book was excellent. I found it difficult to put down.
