Angel Lane (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

Sheila Roberts NEVER disappoints and that is still true with Angel Lane. She can draw you into a story and a town and make you feel like you are really there. Three of the residents of Heart Lake, a baker, quilter, and chocolate maker decide that their small town is growing too fast and most everyone is doing their own thing and not really caring about others. They decide to start a campaign titled "Keep the Heart in Heart Lake". They try to get the town on board by asking all to do one thing for someone else each day. It starts slowly, picks up a little speed and a few disasters happen along the way. The ending comes together like Its A Wonderful Life, but you'll have to read it to find out the results. Sheila always inserts lots of humor and calamities in all her books including this one. How could I not like a book that has a quilt shop, chocolate shop, book shop and lingerie shop in it? How can I not like a book that takes place in Washington state where I live? It's not that I didn't like it it's just that there wasn't any chemistry. It didn't call my name all day to come back to reading it and that's what I want from a book. I really wanted to like it and got over a 100+ pages into it and then asked why am I working so hard at wanting to like this bok?
