A Review of Another Shot At Love (A What's Love??? novel Book 1) by Niecey RoyA Sexy, laugh out loud book - definitely 5++ starsI found Niecey from one of the many groups that I participate in and this is the first book I have read by her. I have to say I really like her writing style. This book focuses on Imogen Mae (Gen or Gennie to friends and family), along with her twin sister and best friend as the main characters. In the prologue, she is throwing Brent's (her ex) remaining clothes and belongings out of the window of their apartment, after calling him to come get them. I love her spunk and tenacity. Three months later, she has moved on and while hanging out with her twin and best friend, she says she is ready to consider dating again. While they are all sitting there, she notices a ring on her sister's finger and finds out that she just got engaged the night before. Unfortunately, he is the best friend of Gen's ex, which means they will have to deal with each other during all the wedding plans, engagement party and wedding. Everyone is afraid she will take Brent back, so they are trying to set her up with someone that she can bring as a date to the engagement party. Her older sister, Catherine, sets her up on a multitude of bad blind dates and just when she is ready to give up on finding Mr. Perfect, she face-plants into the crotch of a sexy stranger after being dumped by the latest geek and left with the check for their meal. Matt sits down at her table and they end up spending time together. He’s not looking for a relationship and Gen has decided that she needs to call off dating anyone. I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so I will just say you really want to read this one. I couldn't put it down and ended up reading way to late in the night, but it was so worth it. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series and anything else she writes. **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.** Another Shot at Love4.5 Groupies StarsI was recommended this book through another author and that author has yet to steer me wrong. I absolutely love this book. I've been in a book funk with either amazing break your heart books or books that haven't been able to capture my attention. I needed something different and Another Shot at Love was exactly that book!!! It is a funny romantic comedy. I was literally laughing out loud throughout, Gen did not have much luck sometimes from crotch face planting to horrible blind dates to giving her date whiplash. I absolutely loved all of the female characters in this book. They are feisty, tell it like it is women ( sometimes the things they said were crazy and hilarious). I want to be in their family and group of friends. I wanted to punch Gens ex Brent in the face and fell in love with Matt, he was HOT, successful, and could take Gens crazy family and friends. Seriously I need a Matt in my life ( NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT). I loved them together, they made each other better people. Their relationship is a little untraditional in the way it starts but I loved how it played out. The writing was amazing and the story had great flow, it felt more like I was there seeing everything happen in person than reading about it on my Kindle. I can't really name anything I didn't like, except for Gens ex Brent and his best friend Jeremy, there was the perfect amount of drama and even that was over shadowed by all the laughs. I loved getting to know the characters, all of them, and can't wait for more from this crazy bunch. If you love a wonderfully written romance with a swoon worthy guy and kick ass funny females this is for you. Be ready for a ton of laughs, man bashing, crazy exes with even crazier mothers, and awkward/embarrassing scenes!!!
