This is a very action packed story, pulling in the Justice League for most of the volume. This really highlights Johns' ability to balance character beats with big action and some massive beautiful art. Aquaman and the Justice League have to face down invading Atlanteans as they try to flood the entire Eastern seaboard. The action is impressive, and there's a lot of character shifts and betrayals. It's a strong volume, much better than the previous one, and more focused and consistent. Geoff Johns has again proven that he can write grand battle scenes. Throne of Atlantis is an epic war between Atlanteans, superheroes, and the trench monsters. So many characters in play and things happening means that this volume is teeming with full-page panels and spreads. Oh how I love to look at every page. I'm happy to see lower-tier superheroes in action. The third volume ends with a change in Aquaman's status quo. Throne of Atlantis is worth every money you have spent buying it.
What do You think about Aquaman, Vol. 3: Throne Of Atlantis (2013)?
if you've already read the JLA Throne of Atlantis trade, this is pretty much the same material.

Aquaman is a better Justice League title than the Justice League.
