Ok, so volumes 3 and 4 of Attack on Titan are just build up for later events. In this particular volume, the main portion of it was a flashback to the training that the main characters went through a few years prior to the events that happened in volume 3. I did not understand why the contents of this book were in this volume, and not in volume 1. Volume 1 completely skipped over the training, which made no sense. This caused me to feel like the author thought, "I should have put this in earlier, so I'll just slip it into this volume". Everything was basically an afterthought. It also doesn't help that the entire training episodes were extremely cliche. Eren is very motivated to become a soldier, but it showing signs that he isn't capable of it. However, it turns out that he was just working with defective gear! Yay! This just seemed like the most obvious string of events that could ever have been used.Since I have seen the anime, I know what is coming next and that this volume is build up for a long string of action. However, if you didn't know what was coming next, you might have wanted to quit reading this series. One thing that was really bothering me about this series is the artwork. Sometimes the proportions of the arms seem really off in some way. I understand why the titans would be oddly proportioned, but the people's arms sometimes appear way too small. :/ This is the part I didn't like in the Anime... It gave us background on our characters, the training period but I thought it wasn't enough... most of them left their homes and joined the fight either for facing the titans or to get a chance to be in the inner walls and others for no reason other than no place else to go ... Each reason is sound in each one perspective but coming from Naruto an anime that spent more than 300+ episode in training phase :) for sure this one lacked a lot :) and thus I didn't liked in a way I thought it was rushed and in other it wasn't enough, But for both cases it wasn't as goog as the previous volumes.
What do You think about Attack On Titan 4 (2013)?
Gore. Gore. Gore. Zero damns were given in this volume!
