I would have given it more stars, but I just couldn't "sing" it very well--at least not in my head. Some rhyming books lend themselves naturally to this and I was totally expecting it in this one, given the title. There were definitely times I could sing it--but only within the page--I couldn't find something connecting throughout the whole book. That being said, I really did enjoy the story and a look at life (the not-so-good parts) through a baby's eyes. The illustrations are great, too! The life of a baby might seem idyllic, but this picture book reveals that at least one baby has plenty cause for complaint. After all, a baby can't tell someone when it needs to be changed or choose what it really wants to eat. And in some respects, being in a crib is similar to being in jail. The book's rhyming text makes a firm case for a baby miserable--that is, until everyone around him makes sure he knows he's loved. The handsome ink and pencil illustrations were assembled digitally. Readers will never regard a baby in quite the same way after reading this title.
What do You think about Baby's Got The Blues (2014)?
I've got to figure out how to sing this - it's got the rhythm of a blues tune!

Love the illustrations - I could totally be friends with the moms in the book.

I might turn this book into a ukulele jam for storytime.
