Okay to get this off my chest the book had a lot misspellings which brings me to a four star rating on it, I am very particular if books have a ton misspellings. Now as for the second part of this the book is good especially with the main character whom I fell in love with in the first book, don't get me wrong this book had it's down points and confusing area's between the characters especially when they are fighting feelings. Barbie and Dylan are great characters especially denying feelings for one other which gets a laugh for me since I did the same with my man for years.I will wait for book three of Barbies adventure if we ever get a book three and four to this series. * I received these books for exchange for my AWESOME review!!! When I first received Barbie Girl, I was kinda iffy about the books-as the name Barbie Girl and Barbie World, just didn't seem like a type of book I would read, and lets face it , Im a cover snob, and the cover just didn't do it for me...but...Well.... Lets start with Barbie Girl!Barbie! This bad-ass, don't give a shit teenage rebel, with pink highlights, and she was the schools' slut, druggie you name it she was it and she sure didn't change there minds other wise. This story is YA, so if you don't like YA than this isn't for you because there's no hot steamy sex scenes. Barbie was the girl that lived with a alcoholic, druggy mother, with an autistic brother that she mothered, because her mother was never around, and when she was she was always drunk, wondering if she would have a house to live in, or what man whore her mother brought home. Those are the issues that Barbie had that she kept inside herself. Not letting anyone know the real her-not letting anyone get close to her. She meets Dylan- she's known Dylan since she was little-he was the boy that always pulled her pigtails, always made her cry. She needed Dylans' help. She was failing Math, and he was her answer to passing. This story was a POV from both Dylan and Barbie, so you will understand the banter and feelings for both sides. Dylan was the smart geeky kid, and Barbie was the trashy "whore". Barbie volunteered to help Dylan get with the girl of his dreams.... but there was something about the spark that these two felt when they were playing "pretend" boyfriend/girlfriend.This story takes you trials of painful memories, betrayal and happiness and ending that made you scream for her... I felt all those emotions, even thou I had to wait weeks for the 2nd book. What I like about this story is that what happened really does happen in real life. I felt like I was there with Barbie thru the whole story. I was her BF that she was talking to. Barbie World~Barbie World starts quickly after Barbie Girl ended. Barbie Girl was very sad, tragic and even made me a little mad,but Barbie World was the story that had me in tears by the end- even thou when it did end I almost thru my kindle, the epilogue made me feel better. It was all about healing the soul, and helping Barbie move past her past and search for what she has been longing for, a family.Barbie wasn't good enough for Dylan. Barbie wasn't good enough for anyone. This was how Barbie dealt with her pain. It numbed her soul. It took the pain away. Her number one priority was taking care of Everett her brother. She had to keep him safe. Making sure he had a family and home to go to. Until she can figure out what it is she is searching for. But Barbie does what she does best and pushes the 1 person that loves her the most away. Barbie tries everything to get over Dylan, to take away the pain and the spark. She met Kai a rocker band boy with tattoos. Total opposite of Dylan. I just wish Barbie would wake up and let Dylan love her, he would take care of her. Make her feel like she should, but she keeps pushing him away, thinking that's what's best.Towards the end of the story, you will experience a roller coaster of events. Third and Roxie our Barbie's Best Friends- and Dylan and Kai the men in Barbie's life. You will love this story, I know I did.
What do You think about Barbie World (2000)?
