In this book we meet Dyson and Kayla. The books starts out with Dyson drinking in a bar in walks a woman that he knows does not frequent this place and is also a true knock out. Dyson has to come to her rescue and at first she seems less than grateful not understanding if he is trying to hit on her or just be nice. Dyson would have hooked up with Kayla in a minute if she had given him the time of day but with her simple blow off he leaves her be hoping they will see each other again. There are some simple coincidence that have them at the same place at the same time which lead them to think that this is more than just chance. Kayla has trust issues and Dyson is a little insecure himself so this is not your typical love story it is one about self discovery and finding out what are you willing to let go of to have the love of a lifetime. This is a great book that I would recommend to anyone and everyone. This is one of those stories that had me at the synopsis. When I read it was about a former Marine who is an MMA fighter, well that is right up my reading alley. I love Marines and MMA fighter and even better if they are the same man. This story is an emotional ride and had me crying, laughing, sad and finally happy. Dyson has the pain of his past that got him an less than honorable discharge from the Marines and he trains for MMA fights while working at the college in the maintenance department. Kayla is attending college to become a CPA all the while trying to forget her past. Can Dyson and Kayla help each other heal from their past? Or will the past destroy them? This is the first for me by Ann Collins and I can't wait to read more from her. If you love a good story the will pull you in and hold you there to see what happens next, then this one is for you.
I found this to be a nice read that I didn't want to put down.
