This book contains two short stories or novellas by two different authors. Alexandra Ivy and Laura Wright. Raphael by Alexandra Ivy is the first story/novella in the book. Raphael is Pantera. He meets Ashe one night when she goes to a bar where her mother frequents. Poor Ashe is having a bad day. She finds out she is pregnant and don't know how she got in this state. Her mother finds out and kicks her out. Raphael to the rescue. It is hot and most definitely steamy.Parish by Laura Wright is the second story/novella in the book. Parish is Pantera also. He is a hunter. Parish has a strong dislike of humans. That is until he meets Julia. Julia is a doctor who finds herself without a job or a place to stay. Parish to the rescue? Is is a little less of the hotness from steaminess that the first story offered, but still just as hot.Beware of the fact that stories tie in to each other and once you get to the end of these two there is still a cliffhanger. In order to get the whole story it seems you will definitely have to read the entire series. These books basically start the background plot that continues on through the series, but gives you the main plot(the romance and how the heros and heroines mated) upfront.Overall a great read, guess I am off to get the next part. Loved it! It was a wonderful book, two novellas in one buy! And, wait for it.....only $0.99 on B&N! Was so surprised to see that, but given the length I understand why. I would have paid $3.99 though lol. So, Raphael is a puma shifter. he had sex with a human and blanketed her memory just in case he revealed who he was in the throes of passion. Due to the fifty years of no reproduction he didn't think he would need protection, and when he learned she was prego he was able to do things not done in the recent decade of the puma clan (pantera). The one thing I don't get is he must be fifty, since its been fifty years since the last pantera was born. But, he's described as a 30 something yearold. So, they must not age....then how are they dying out? That was something I was confused about. The second book is just as good as the first, and I will definitely be buying the next one!
What do You think about Bayou Heat - Raphael / Parish (2014)?
I saw this book bundle of 6 short stories and i said i will give it a try and boy was i glad. I love shape shifters specially wolfs, they are very territorial and possessive, but hello pantheras, i now have a new favorite shapeshifter and i loved the stories, they were short, but they still managed to pack a very good plot and all you want to do is keep reading and when you finish you want to stalk the authors sothey can keep writing. Very erotic and sex and suspenseful. Highly recommended

A myth of Pantera shapeshifters. A excelent job bringing the world of Pantera to life. In Rapheal, Ashe gets kicked out of her mothers for being pregnant, but dont have memories of being with anyone. She wakes up in a dark hotel room to a hot guy talking about the Pantera myths and them being mated. In Parish, Parish takes off to find a baby doctor for Ashe. He ends up kidnapping her to make her his. We get left hanging at the end, but the stories are great.
