He had almost completely lost feeling in his legs by now, and waves of nausea kept rolling over him. He couldn’t tell if the sick feeling was from hunger, dehydration, or just plain old fear that this might actually be how things ended for him. Carter closed his eyes and began to count, trying to block out the morbid thoughts running through his brain.
