I was in the mood for something light and silly, so I picked this up. It was precisely what I needed. (Sick and in desperate need of distraction.)This is a sweet story, and one that clearly does not take itself too seriously. The drama is still dramatic, but the fun is also very funny. The silly names are of course the dead giveaway that this is not to be taken too seriously.I’m wondering if this applies to a lot more of the books I read and complain about. Because if I approach it in this completely not serious way I feel a lot more comfortable with oddities or inconsistencies. Not that this book was a great offender in those regards.I love the beginning. It has just the right mix of fun and caring. The switch to Béla’s perspective threw me slightly. He’s very… dramatic in his expressions and musings. His reference to a fashion makeover stands out immediately, considering how limited his exposure to more casual aspects of life seems to have been. I found it difficult to take his history seriously under those circumstances. But that’s all right. The story worked for me and the characters were sweet or fun or insane. I hope I will like the next book as much. :3 4 Stars!!!!!OMG this book had some hilarious moments. This book could have been a very serious read considering it dealt with abuse, malnourishment and lack of hygiene, but these to authors really did a great job keeping it on the lighter side. The names alone in this book where great. Count Vladimir Dracul, I mean when you think of this name you think cruel blood sucker but that is way off the mark here. When he finds Boy hiding in his stables it is so sweet. He takes him in and cares for him, nurses him back to health and protects him from is ex crazy vampire Count. The only thing that really disappointed me was why Boy was being hunted down. I mean we have this really big plot being built up and bam curve ball, not at all what I was expecting. I am really hoping the next story in this series is Iggy's story (and he is wearing his colorful polka-dot socks) or the werewolf mob boss.
What do You think about Beautiful Bela (2014)?
Great start to a new series. Can't wait for the next one.
