Beber, Jogar, F@#er (2009) - Plot & Excerpts

A guys perspective parody of the successful "Eat, Pray, Love" novel, This is a funny romp, a perfect summer escape novel. "Bill" is recovering from an unexpected divorce from the love of his life and he designed to enjoy his freedom by indulging in some of life's pleasures. There are many laughs to be had while enjoying his adventures and if the reader just rolls with it, his journey provides much amusement. There is nothing cerebral here - just laughs while the author gets drunk, enjoys gambling, and then attempts to reach out to the opposite sex. It's funny and worth the couple of hours it will take to get through in its entirety. This book is very clearly just Gottlieb's petulant attempt to get revenge on his much more famous ex-wife for writing "Eat, Pray, Love". He's not an author, he just wants to show that he's alive and doing well, probably because of backlash from Gilbert's book. It's unfortunate that these two feel the need to air out their grievances in such a public forum, but I have to say, Gilbert was much more graceful about it. Skip this one and read "Eat, Pray, Love" again.
