This is an amazing story about a young man named Evan who quite literally has the weight of the world on his shoulders! He feel alone in this world and has no one to turn to, Until Ness comes along & turns his world upside down! But it's not all a one way street in their relationship. Ness has baggage all of her own & Even helps her to put it all into perspective. Their road travelled is not easy & has so many bumps along the way.The way this book is written shows exactly how young adults around the 20 year old mark would behave is the situations written about! Lisa's writing shows how overwhelming an all consuming love can be at that young age & how hard Evan & Ness are fighting to keep some sense of themselves & not get lost in each other. You see what happens when a sibling has to adapt to the roll of a parent & how there is no room for a 3rd person in a relationship!It was refreshing to read a book that is not just a story of 2 people that meet, have sex then fall in love. This book has an actual story line to it & I honestly did not want to rush to read it in case I missed anything! If you haven't read anything else by Lisa Swallow, start with Because of Lucy. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and let me tell you, it is far deeper than I thought it would be. I adored the two main characters, Ness and Evan. Ness is very head-strong and independent, and somewhat emotionally withdrawn. She focuses on her own stuff, is not afraid to speak her mind and has a kick-ass, witty personality. Evan is so sweet, and even though he has his issues, they're not over-the-top. I found the author's approach to Evan's situation brilliantly written, even if it was a bit frustrating at times. Honestly, I loved the Evan-smile comments. He is sooo damn adorable!!! There were a few twists that I completely wasn't expecting, so those were a great surprise. Overall, a great read, very sexy, intense, touching and definitely does not dissapoint.
