The silver light of my power illuminated the cuffs and the chain that trailed to the rock wall behind the bed. The newly lit chain was anchored into the wall with a couple of enchanted loops. I wrapped my hands around the chains and yanked harder, infusing my efforts with a little energy.Nothing. Unfortunately, the power I was using to illuminate the chains was heating them. They were hot enough, in fact, to burn my skin. But they didn’t break or even appear to weaken.
