Liam can't believe his luck. In the city for just a few weeks and he has already found a job. But you know what they say, if it's too good to be true, there is probably a reason. That reason is Chase Preston. Chase is the reclusive author of a series of highly successful books. Liam is hired to "be" Chase. Liam will be the public face of Chase and he has one week to learn what that means. This job should be a piece of cake except for the fact that Liam can't stop thinking about Chase and Chase can't seem to stop kissing Liam! This is a quick sexy read that will have you screaming for more when you get to the end! I am looking forward to learning more about the mysterious Chase. I kind of hope the next book is told from his POV because I really want to know what is going on in his mind. Pick this up but be prepared to be left wanting more! This was my first J.J. Scotts book, and I have to say clearly I've been living under a rock! Will be buying her others later today! The writing is wonderful, she brings out the characters so you feel like you are right there in the story! The details of NYC, clothing, taste etc. is perfect! Even though this is a novella and part one, Ms. Scott gets a lot of detail into the 100 plus pages so you feel like your appetite has been whet and you will be be back for more.Liam has had a falling out w/his family but you don't get those details (yet). And has decided to give NYC a try. He's a month in and gets a job offer out of the blue. He can't turn it down no matter what, because like Landon points out he has no experience and no other choice.Chase is the author and we are lead to believe his PR people (Eli and Landon) have decided that they want a figure head to pose for him (Chase), think Ben and Jerry's in the early '90's. (this has been done in real life, so not so far fetched)Liam is a county boy through and through and Chase is a rich arrogant author. Liam is stuck living w/Chase and although Chase is trying for arrogant jerk, Liam can start to see through that cover by reading his books and the notes he has provided to Liam so Liam can become Chase.I think the best part is at the end when Liam is reading Chase's book so we are actually reading a story inside a story! Brilliantly done Ms. Scott! (F'ing Zombie soldiers!)The sexually chemistry between these two that is already heating up is mind blowing! This is a great part one and I can't wait until part 2!
What do You think about Being Chase (2000)?
