I'm a huge Molly Harper fan and was ecstatic to read something from her that didn't have vampires in it and I wasn't disappointed. This has all of the wit and charm I've come to expect from Ms Harper. Ok I'll admit it I wasn't sure in the beginning, Nina wasn't exactly what I expected. She was much more subdued than Ms Harper's usual heroine but as the book progresses her real attitude emerges. I found myself liking her much more as the book continued. I liked Decon right from the start, he's not your normal hero either. Total nerd, and I loved it. All the pop culture references had me giggling up a storm. Pretty sure my co-workers think I'm nuts, but then I'm pretty sure they already thought that.I kinda figured things out pretty early in the book yet the clues kept me second guessing myself as the plot progressed. I was completely sucked into this book and all the twists it took. I look forward to seeing more stand alones like this from Ms Harper. How I got it: Netgalley I've loved every other Molly Harper book that I've read, but I was left underwhelmed by this one.Molly spends so much time introducing us to all of the characters and detailing their backstories, that we're past the halfway mark before anything interesting happens. And it's not like the mystery angle gripped me - I knew what happened more or less straightaway, so was frustrated and bored as I waited for everyone in the book to cotton on.Also; the humour here felt flat to me.
A fun ghost story / romance / mystery to escape with on a rainy afternoon.
