I swear I tried keeping up with this one but I got utterly bored and can't seemed to feel a jolt of excitement anywhere after the couple's initial encounter.I don't know why this story suddenly deviates from the first and second book's vibrant and dynamic characters and storyline. In the first book, Curt's character gave me the impression of being a colorful character and all (but of course with all his family issues... still) and somehow he was presented as someone who is a weakling, overly inferior guy. What's up with the low self-esteem? He's a freaking lawyer for geez sake! And if I'm being honest, this book feels like more of a continuation of Aaron and Matt's story with their excessive exposure. The pacing's too slow and became quite predictable especially at the last few chapters. Or I was thinking , it may be Jack who didn't jived at all with Curt. They absolutely have zero chemistry, IMO. I mean Jack is older and he's also full of insecurities. I was like, really??!! This couple didn't just work for me the way the couples in the first two books in the series did. I was even more enthusiastic about (hopefully) Paul's story. Despite my disappoinment with this, I'd still support the series :) Lane Hayes is definitely not perfect but she's got the goods ;)Rating: 2 out of 5 stars J'ai commencé à lire cette série par ce livre-ci (pas très logique mais le résumé me plaisait bien et je l'avais sur ma liseuse).
What do You think about Better Than Friends (2014)?
Loved this one just as much as the others.
