The hangover from the night before was an absolute bitch, and by the time she had pulled herself out of bed and had a glass of orange juice and handful of Tylenol it was nearly 2 o’clock. She looked at the white dress thrown over the side of her couch, and she considered it with confusion. Last night had been an absolute daze. Twenty thousand? Who would pay 20 thousand for a date with her? She wondered who the man would be – would he be old and crotchety? Young and handsome? She couldn’t care too much when it was twenty thousand, though. The phone rang at about four, and it was the charity organization. They let her know that he would be picking her up at 7 that night, and that all she needed was herself. Everything would be taken care of. She watched TV, called Karen for support, then started getting ready. She picked a different dress, and did her hair, spraying on some final touches when the doorbell rang.
