I totally enjoyed this book as I did the other two in the series. I fell in love with the characters, and I'm going to miss them now that I've finished the trilogy. These books are entertaining and educational. The plot moves quickly. I'll warn you that they're hard to put down once you've started them, so if you're reading them in the evening, you may have to stay up until you've finished them! I highly recommend this trilogy. This is a great book, it's part of a series, but can easily be read on it's own, however, the eventsleading up to this book are so interesting that I would recommend you read those also. I love all the characters in the book, they are interesting and each has their own tale to tell. It's a great history lesson too if you are at all interested in the Mao period in China and the terrible aftermath of this awful time period. To be honest, I truly wasn't interested in this at all until I read the stories by Kay Bratt, and I have found myself google"ing" a great deal. It's well worth the read. I give this a solid 4.5 stars, and a high recommendation.
What do You think about Bitter Winds (2014)?
I enjoyed this trilogy, however this last book did not resolve all the mysteries.
