I really liked this book with a few exceptions. I thought that the fighting and action scenes could have been much better. It seemed like they were rushed and missing a lot of details. I also wish that I would have known that this was not the first book in the series before I pocked it up. At some points I was a little lost. I don't think that this book was meant to be read as a stand alone book.Other than that, I loved the book. The characters were great and I loved the fact that it was a little different. It did slightly remind me of Kenyon's Belador series at the begining though. I am disappointed that another paranormal romance author has found it necessary to follow the 'celestial' path. The frequent, repetitive, and seemingly gratuitous, sex scenes were another disappointment; I was not reading this book for the sex scenes, but for the story which seemed choppy and disjointed. The story flow was not helped by the introduction of a large number of new characters, and a resolution that seemed trite.
