Gabriel Navarro is a tattoo artist ... He meets potential client Jake MacLean who comes into the store to request a tattoo of a black hawk helicopter ...Jake is a Iraq war veteran who is suffering but does good hiding it from his sister , who he lives with and the world.Gabriel feels an attraction but he isn't sure if Jake is gay ... Jake is attracted to Gabe but doesn't know how to attack towards this ...While Gabe and Jake start to talk the attraction continues ... snowballing in a series of events that can cause harm to Gabe , who only wants to help and make Jake happy. The story is good and the secondary characters especially Hype , makes it really good to enjoy ... I was worried that the author was going to take the "magical relationship" route. I'm glad she didn't. If there is any criticism at all, it's that the entire story is really a build up to a breakthrough. In truth, the ending is really a HFN and the beginning of an attempt to have a healthy relationship.editing because I have more to say -- SPOILER ALERT (I might not figure out how to hide this)* * *you've been warned...In reality, even a true HFN should have included counseling for Gabe as well. Gabe as the child of at least 1 alcoholic handled Jake's spral into a breakdown like the child of an alcoholic--as though you could pretend it's not really that bad, and keep the person you care about calm and happy enough that they won't spiral out of control. Some would say this is only fiction and romantic fiction at that. I would say that if you are going to go into the devastation of PTSD, why not go into the reality of both sides of a relationship trying to cope. I feel this really could use a follow up. Gabe id a caretaker kind of person. He still can be one, but what happens if/when Jake becomes independent enough not to need him specifically in that more dependent way?And I still think it deserves 5 stars if for no other reason then it makes me think.
What do You think about Black Hawk Tattoo (2013)?
I felt so heartbroken over Jake throughout this story. And I love that he found Gabriel.

The last quarter was ridiculous, only barely--barely--saved by a decent Epilogue.
