I have to say this book was very addicting. It had all of the paranormal elements I love with werewolves and vampires mixed in with a human heroine that is a little bit different also. Faith was such a cool heroine and I loved the ability that she had. I loved that she was also a strong heroine but understood when she needed help it was ok to receive it. We start this book out with meeting Faith who is out with her boyfriend Lucas hunting down a vampire. They are trying to prove that a vampire uprising is going on to Lucas's werewolf pack. There are some events that take place and lead to Lucas being tried and sentenced to a night chained with silver and unable to run with his pack on the full moon. I have to say I felt so sorry for Lucas having to go through this but loved that Faith was there to help him through it. I loved Lucas. He was such a strong character and really loved Faith. I didn't like the way he would sometimes treat Faith though. He was a straight up jerk to her at times even if I understood is reasoning behind it that didn't make it right.Faith was also dealing with her friend Derek and how he would be when he awoke. Derek we learn has become a vampire and werewolf hybrid. He has been asleep for a while and when he woke up nobody was sure how he would be. I liked that Derek was ok when he woke up and was still a lot like the Derek that Faith knew and loved as her best friend. I have to say that I liked Derek more than Lucas and loved him with Faith. I wished they would have gotten together. Derek was off the charts awesome too with all his amazing abilities and good looks. He was such a good friend to Faith and I loved the way he stood up for her.Faith,Derek and Lucas end up having to work together to try to bring down the vampires. I liked the way that Derek was willing to work with the vampires to try to bring them down if it meant keeping Faith safe. Faith learns that she is wanted by the vampires for her abilities because they want her on their side. I liked that Faith didn't let anything get her down and kept plowing through everything that was thrown her way. Overall I loved this book. It was a fast read with great characters and a great plot. The author had a great writing style and showed both sides of the vampires and werewolves and how different they really are. She also created a unique character in Derek with him being a mix of both sides. This story kept me hooked and wanting to read more to see what would happen next. I recommend this read to others.I received this book for review from Running Press and Netgalley and this in no way infulenced my review. THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS“Blood Crave” by, Jennifer Knight *First I need to tell you that this book is a sequel. The first book in this series is called “Blood on the Moon” and I really enjoyed it.This series follows Faith Reynolds, her werewolf boyfriend Lucas, and her best friend Derek. In “Blood on the moon” Faith finds out about the supernatural world, learns about a vampire uprising, and falls in love with Lucas. At the end of the first book Derek is bitten by both a vampire and a werewolf, and we are left with lots of questions. “Blood crave” lets us know what happens to Derek and we find out more about the vampire threat. We also get to delve deeper into the relationship between Faith and Lucas which is my favorite part. Let me start out by saying that overall I liked “Blood crave” and I will continue reading the series. I felt like the book had a good flow and it kept my interest till the last page. (It also had an unexpected twist that was my favorite part of the book) I enjoyed the romance between Faith and Lucas and was happy to see it grow deeper. I also felt that the changes with Derek were very interesting and I look forward to seeing what’s in store for him in the next book. Now to the thing that bothered me. I really felt like all three of the main characters spent too much time throwing emotional tantrums. Faith, Lucas, and Derek kept doing things that made me want to reach in the book and shake them. That being said, I have to give the author props for eliciting emotion from me. (I was not bored) I have heard some readers say that they get annoyed with too much teen angst in a book. I feel that if you are going to read a teen novel that you have to go into it expecting the angst and just go with it. Like I said above, I enjoyed “Blood crave” and I am excited to read the third book in the series. Jennifer Knight is a talented new author and I am happy to have her books in my collection. (Just a side note: “Blood crave” has some sexual content but it’s tastefully done and is safe for younger readers)
What do You think about Blood Crave (2012)?
Perfect for team Jacob. Frankly, I thought the protag was too stupid to live.
