Blood Trust (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I listened to this as an audio book. It was very long, and there were so many strands that I found it quit a challenge to get to the end. There were couple of plot twists which were very surprising but not enough to really make me stay as engaged as I would have liked. There were also some very funny moments (such as reference to Jack McClure's monstrous brain!) although I don't think they were intended that way.I realise that this is one in a series so joining part way through is never ideal.A reasonable thriller. I really enjoyed this book.It had everything that I ever liked all into one. Action,Drama, and some Comedy. In some certain chapters, this book would keep you at the edge of your seat just wanting to know what happens next. The main protagonist Jack McClure has you always thinking how does he know this?,how can he do this?, did he really just do that? At some points in the book,he makes himself look like a mysterious figure, like when he was talking about his daughters death. It makes you think does he want to commit suicide to see his daughter,or does he want to live with this guilt on his chest for the rest of his life? His daughter was killed in a terrorist attack when the Bulgarians,(last book,#2),blew up a building with her as hostage. He always makes himself a questionable character,if he likes his life or not,if his friends matter to him or not,you couldn't really figure it out if he's a good guy or a bad guy. With the action, like I said, this book will keep you at the edge of your seat.In some moments,I found myself talking to myself, shouting "DON'T DO IT!!!" at some decisions or plans or murders he had to do.If any one has ever played the game Max Payne 3,Jack McClure in some ways relates to him.In some action moments, they run away from german shepherds that want to kill them, and at other moments you see them jumping out of skyscrapers with a bomb hidden inside it.As I said, this book is intense. As for the comedy, theres not to much of it,just witty remarks and funny violations and harsh comebacks. This book doesn't really focus on comedy,it focuses on the more important things.

What do You think about Blood Trust (2011)?

This is basically a comic book without pictures, but of its kind, it's a pretty good read.
