Like the boy who cried wolf, Ben swears that he has seen Bigfoot and that the others have just missed him. But when he finally does meet the creature, no one believes him. The digital illustrations fit the story well as Ben finally does get his wish, but then determinedly, wants to prove that he did see Bigfoot. I like to imagine that Bigfoot is still out there, watching Ben and his antics with amusement. Ben liked to tell stories. His favorite was to cry "Look, everyone! It's Bigfoot!" Of course, after a while, no one believed Ben's stories anymore. One evening while he's sitting by the deep, dark forest, he hears a "crick!". You can probably guess what comes out of the woods! This is a clever version of the well-known “Boy Who Cried Wolf” story. The students I shared this with found it very funny!
What do You think about Boy Who Cried Bigfoot! (2013)?
This would be a fun story to share with K-2 crowd - and really get into shouting bigfoot.
