Break In Two (2013) - Plot & Excerpts

Without the redundancy of a recap of the book, I will give my thoughts.Break In Two was a really good read. The author was very descriptive of the characters, restaurants and the city. I liked that because it allowed me to visualize the scenes as they unfold as opposed to guessing her hair color or how tall he was. I also thought it was beautifully written. I connected with Claire and Cole and their feelings. The writer has a way of writing these scenes that are not so unbearably heavy you know she's trying to draw you in, but writes them with just enough angst and emotion, you can't help but be drawn in.I also liked this book because the storyline was real. This could have happened to anyone living unlike the story lines where he has an insane amount of money and she's the average looking girl in frumpy clothes who is shy and a virgin but he only has eyes for her. Yeah right. No, this story is realistic. I liked that Ms. Summers gave Claire fuller breasts and fuller hips so more readers can relate. There are two reasons I did not give this book five stars, first, the relationship just happens. There not really any angst involved. Secondly, 90% of their drama happens within the first thirty percent of the book, then when the major drama hits! the way it was handled was unrealistic and I felt like there were too many chapters wasted in getting to the resolution.Overall, Broken In Two is a beautiful book that is very well written and has characters you can relate to. I will definitely read more of M. J. Summers' books When I started this book, I flew through the first 20% very quickly. Then, I started wondering what the point of it was. It felt disconnected and loose after awhile. It would've been pretty good, if a lot of the content was cut out. It just went on and on and on. I became incredibly annoyed, bored with the NUMEROUS sex scenes and skipped over them. Like, really? If I have to read about her swollen pu**y one more time, I was going to scream. By the end, I felt like "ok, come on... wrap stuff up" but it kept going on. It was pretty frustrating and I'm glad it's over.
