Breakaway - A Contemporary Romance Drama Story - Plot & Excerpts
"It's not something a person would discuss over the phone. Would it be okay if I drop by tomorrow around noon?" "Yes," Kate said. "Then I'll see you tomorrow," Nathan said. "I'll see you then," Kate said. "Good night, Nathan." "Good night, Katie." With a bitter taste in his mouth, Nathan hung up the phone. Groaning, he leaned forward, propped his elbows on his knees and buried his face in his hands. Tomorrow was not going to be a good day. Chapter 11 Nathan didn't sleep well that night, worrying about how Kate was going to take the news of Edward's infidelity. He tossed and turned until dawn and then finally gave in and got out of bed. After a quick shower, he made a pot of coffee and sat down at the table with a cup of the steaming liquid. As he sat there, Nathan's thoughts shifted from Edward and Kate to his mother, and what she had said to him the day before. Was it true? Did he have a hard time committing to Connie because he was in love with Kate?
