Leigh's life totally changes when her mom marries Paul and she gets a stepsister named Betsy. At first glance Betsy is beautiful, smart, witty and Leigh wants nothing to do with her. However, after hanging out over the summer with Leigh's friend Jeremy, a bond starts to form. Will Leigh come to accept Betsy as her real stepsister?Or will Betsy snatch Jeremy away from Leigh and leave her lonely? More like a 2.5 rating. This book had some really great moments and I enjoyed the theme of being whole/complete through others, but Wilhite never delved deeply into many of the issues she brought up. There were so many avenues to explore with characters but I felt like she just wanted to wrap up her own novel as quickly as possible. While the main character's thoughts and fears were very much alive, I felt like the "show don't tell" mantra would have helped out many of the characterizations.
Unexpected tear jerker. Cute story about relationships and how our attitudes affect those around us.

An OK book--I think teenagers will enjoy it more than I did.
