Brightest Star In The Sky (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
This was a strange book from the get-go. There is an ambiguous "omnipotent narrator" that adds odd comments throughout the book. Perhaps I am slow, but it took me until the last 7/8 of the book to figure out how this narrator fit into the story. Consequently it seemed like random vignettes of different characters that lived in the same building. Couldn't wait to finish it so I could start another book. Would not recommend. This book is unusual, and at the start I puzzled over the narrator struggling to determine who this mysterious person or spirit was. It wasn't a fast read, but it was still one I was eager to read one more day, one more story of one of the residents of 66 Star Street Apartment Building in Dublin. This book is very well written, a totally different approach that is difficult to pull off, however this author did pull it off and I would definitely recommend this book.

Very different from Marian Keyes other books, but a thrilling page-turner nonetheless.
