★★★★ 1/2 - ottimo romanzo.... iniziato a leggere con un certo pregiudizio, per via dei molti autori che sfruttano la fama del cognome per pubblicare clamorose boiata.... qui devo invece ricredermi ed ammettere che sbagliavo.... il libro di Peter Leonard ha un'ottima architettura della trama ed una altrettanto ottima caratterizzazione dei personaggi.... non do il punteggio pieno solo per via di alcuni errori tipici degli scrittori alle prime armi, che pur se perdonabili, sul momento danno fastidio (mi riferisco, ad esempio, all'abitudine di saltare con troppa disinvoltura da un personaggio all'altro, confondendo il lettore sul personaggio di cui si parla al momento, e costringendolo a tornare sui suoi passi per capire). A parte queste piccolezze, il giudizio è assolutamente positivo! consigliato! First line of the book"Kate was standing at the island counter, eyes swollen from crying, makeup smeared across one of her cheeks, staring at the food: platters of cold cuts and bowls of potato salad, plates of cookies, assorted cheeses and fresh fruit."Reviewed this book - it had what seemed to be a couple of separate plotlines that took a while to intersect and once they did the pace of the story accelerated and so did my interest as a reader. So the book has a slow start but gets real interesting and has a intriguing but violent ending.
