I normally do not write reviews. I very rarely read them. I felt this book deserves a review. This was the most entertaining book I've read in quite sometime. I couldn't wait to read it. When I wasn't reading it, I found myself trying to figure out when I could pick it up again. The chapters are short. The descriptions at times are very vivid. Sometimes disgustingly so. There is some great one liners and exchanges between Dagny and Victor. In some ways, it reminded me of a John Grisham novel only in the fact that there are a lot of people involved and keeping track of them becomes hard at times. There are great twists in the plot. The story is 415 pages long but read very quickly. I cannot wait for another book by this author. I was sorry it was over. I hope the next book is just as good if not better! My book club is reading this book. It seems someone in the group is friends with this author's mother and so lucky us, Jeff Miller will come talk to us in person!So far everyone has enjoyed this book and I did too. There are several chapters set in Cincinnati, and we enjoyed seeing our city as a "character" in print. I also liked that the main character, Dagny Gray, a female FBI agent, has an eating disorder. That's something I "get" as a woman and I thought this male author pulled the dieting woman's mindset off perfectly. I will confess that I do not usually read mysteries. The main reason is that I can not keep all the plot's twists and turns straight in my mind. I had that problem with this book. Also, there seemed to be a lot of names and I had trouble keeping those straight too. It all made me wish I were reading the book in electronic format so I could highlight that unremembered name and have my reader search the earlier text for it to remind me why it sounded so darn familiar. I will probably read another Dagny Gray Thriller when one is available as there are some unanswered questions in the back story that I want to get the answers to, such as what did Dagny's father die from? Was he FBI too?? I was sure there was going to be a twist in that regard but I was wrong.
