Bullseye (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

I greatly enjoyed and have deeply missed the Camel Club books, but Oliver Stone and the Camel Club are back in action in this short story by David Baldacci: "Bullseye: An Original Will Robie/ Camel Club Short Story." I am not usually a fan of short stories, but when I saw this was a Camel Club, I had to get it. Not only does Baldacci give us the Camel Club, but he also combines his newer popular hero Will Robie into the story. "The Bullseye" is very well written, and it has a clever and well developed plot. It is definitely entertaining and worth reading. Oliver is heading to the bank to deposit his check, when he believes he is being followed. Stone plans his arrival near the close of the bank, and the stranger slides in right after him. The stranger is Will Robie, and they both quickly find themselves in the middle of a bank heist -- and they are taken hostage alongside bank employees and a few others. Oliver Stone. Oliver Stone and Will Robie soon realize that they need to trust one another, and they must combine their skills. With the help of The Camel Club, Stone and Robie uncover a strange plot which is far more sinister than a simple bank robbery. If you have not read a Baldacci book pick one up. They are filled with great plots, twists, and amazing characters such as Maxwell and King, Puller, Robie, and my favorites: Oliver Stone and the entire Camel Club gang. Baldacci is a master story teller and develops amazing characters. This story was exciting and it was a fast read. As he is depositing his paycheck at a bank branch in an upscale mall, Oliver Stone (of Camel Club fame) and Will Robie are taken hostage by what seem to be bank robbers. However, the robbers have some non-standard heavy equipment and the duo determine there is another agenda. Oliver contacts his buddies from the Camel Club and together they defeat the criminals. Not enough is explained, such as why Will Robie is following Oliver in the first place and the coincidences, including the appearance of Secret Service agent Alex Ford is all too convenient, at least for me.

What do You think about Bullseye (2014)?

Good quick read for Will Robie fans. Have not read Camel Club series, but may need to have a look.

Super short story, but engaging, like all of Baldacci's books.
