Zeke had managed to get into the local real estate website and look up available rental properties. Then he’d picked the best one for both location and defensible position. Sunshine seemed to be reeling from the confrontation with her stepfather. Zeke cursed the fact that he hadn’t had a chance to ask John Stanley any questions. But Sunshine had definitely been in danger. And right now they had no options. Zeke couldn’t be anywhere near the authorities, so they couldn’t afford to wait for the cops to arrive.
