I yell as I walk through the door and slam it shut behind me. “SJ, I thought you had a meeting?” my neighbor and close friend Rita asks. “He cancelled again!” My anger is still in full force. “What was his excuse this time?” she asks. “His plane is delayed and won’t be arriving in until tonight,” I answer. “I shouldn’t show you the front page of the Washington post then,” she says, clearly to entice me. “Hand it over,” I demand and take the paper from her. The article is about an explosion in a publication building in New York City with three pictures attached. The first is of the Daylight Publication building. The other two pictures are of Daylight’s owner, Edward Day and my new nemesis Caleb Slate, enjoying an afternoon stroll around Central Park. The paper crumples in my hands. “That lying asshole. We are going to lose our homes in less than three months and he’s fucking strolling around Central Park.”
